John Wilson
John A. Wilson, 81, of 67 Southmoor Shores Drive, St. Marys, and of Holiday, Fla., died at 3:23 p.m. April 17, 2008, at his St. Marys residence.
He was born March 8, 1927, in Smithfield to Wylie and Elizabeth Long Wilson. On Nov. 1, 1949, he married Dolores Drake, who died July 13, 2004.
Surviving are two sons, Larry (Mary) and Greg (Margarita), all of St. Marys; a sister, Sara Dinovo, Aurora; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two sisters, Laura Panella and Ruth Schmidt, and two brothers, Wylie and Harold.
He retired from Wilson Sewing and Music Store in St. Marys, which he owned for 37 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of First Presbyterian Church and the American Legion, both of St. Marys. He also was a Master Mason, belonging to the Mercer Lodge 121 Free and Accepted Masons.
Services are 10 a.m. Tuesday at Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. Keith Kivlin officiating. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery, where the American Legion will conduct graveside military rites.
Calling is 6-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, where Mercer Lodge will conduct a Masonic service at 8:30 p.m.
