A Hecht's Landing resident is recuperating at home today after being struck by what utility company employees are calling overflash from a lightning strike. The incident occurred shortly before 8:45 p.m. Friday as a thunderstorm packing brisk winds buffeted Mercer County. [More]

Canfield shuts out Celina 6-0 in state title contest
AKRON -Usually, the jitters come on the first day of state tournament play.

The tournament run to the Division II state runner-up was a reward.
COLUMBUS - The New Bremen boys were the highest-placing area team at the state track meet, coming in third in Division III, one position short of getting acknowledged in front of the crowd at Jesse Owens stadium and receiving the big state runner-up trophy. [More]

ROSSBURG - Earl and Berniece Baltes forever will overlook Eldora Speedway.
Tony Stewart, who purchased the track from the legendary owner in 2004, unveiled a life-sized bronze statue of Earl and Berniece prior to Saturday night's running of the Dirt Late Model Dream.
