James Brown
James J. "Jeff" Brown, 73, of Coldwater, died at 9:50 p.m. June 17, 2008, at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne, Ind.
He was born Dec. 28, 1934, in Greenup Ky., to Newton and Dessie Sadie Robirds Brown. He married Kathryn Bricker, who survives in Coldwater.
Other survivors are a son James "Jim", Corpus Christi, Texas; a brother, Willard N. (Margaret), Lakeview; two sisters, Lou E. (Dave) Herron, Wapakoneta, and Betty K. Kohli, Sidney; a stepbrother, Ernest (Ressie) Robirds, Alger; and three grandchildren.
He retired from the Montgomery County State Highway Patrol and had worked with the Auglaize County Sheriff's office. He had worked on the Nixon Drug Task Force, was a Sergeant on the Vandalia Police Department, and worked with the Montgomery County Sheriff's office. After his retirement he worked as a salesman for Burlington Air Freight. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
