Brother Donald Fisher
Brother Donald Fisher, C.PP.S., 72, died at 5 a.m. June 25, 2008, in the infirmary at St. Charles Center in Carthagena, after a lengthy illness.
He was born on Nov. 9, 1935, in Wapakoneta, to Bernard and Marian (Stueve) Fisher.
Survivors are a brother, Thomas (Marceil), Wapakoneta; and a sister, Sister Jane Fisher, Port Clinton.
He entered the Congregation in 1950 and was professed as a brother of the Missionaries of the Precious Blood in 1955. He worked on the congregation's farm at St. Mary's Novitiate in Burkettsville, moved to the former St. Charles Seminary, to help on the farm in 1959 and remained there until the Missionaries ceased farming operations. He volunteered as a member of the board of supervisors with the Mercer County Soil and Water Conservation District, and was honored by that board in 2005 for his work in conservation farming.
Funeral Mass is 2 p.m. Monday, at St. Charles, the Revs. Angelo Anthony and Ken Pleiman officiating. Burial is at the Community cemetery.
Calling hours are 1-5 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at St. Charles with a prayer vigil at 7 p.m.
