Charles Whitsett
Charles K. "Bud" Whitsett, 76, of 814 N. Parkview Drive, Coldwater, died at 12:55 a.m. Aug. 19, at Mercer County Community Hospital.
He was born Oct. 19, 1931, in Indianapolis, Ind. to Charles A. and Mildred Baar Whitsett. On April 4, 1964, he married Eileen Sutter, who survives.
Other survivors are a son, Major Charles R. (Sherri), McLean, Va.; two daughters, Beth (Jim) Bruns, St. Henry, and Becky Whitsett, Kettering; three brothers, David (Pat), and Tim, all of Indianapolis, and Tom (Brenda), Brownsburg, Ind.; five sisters, Mary and Sister Therese Whitsett, Martha (John) Kremer, Christine (Chuck) Stewart all of Indianapolis, and Angela (Clarence) Frost of Pacific, Mo.; and five grandchildren.
He worked at St. Joseph's Hill Infirmary in Missouri, St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, and retired after twenty years as maintenance supervisor at Mercer County Community Hospital, Coldwater. He attended Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Montezuma, where he was a lector, eucharistic minister and a member of the men's holy name society. He also was a member of St. Henry Knights of Columbus, Knights of St. John, Maria Stein, and the American Society of Hospital Engineers. He was a member of the National Woodcarvers Association.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church, the Rev. James Dugal officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Wednesday and 9-10 a.m. Thursday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Coldwater.
