NEW BREMEN - Plans to build a lockkeeper's house on the west bank of the Miami and Erie Canal moved another step closer to reality Tuesday night as village councilors reviewed the interior layout prepared by a local design firm.

Leigha Wieman is a determined, headstrong young lady who can beat cancer, if anyone can, says close friend, Michelle Agler of Rockford.
In July, Wieman, 25, was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. The diagnosis came after Wieman had undergone surgery for back fractures.
A pair of similar teams will square off in Western Buckeye League play on Friday night in Kenton as the Celina football team will make the long trek into Hardin County to face the Wildcats.
Week Five is now complete, which means the high school football regular season is now half over.
At this time every year, you can look at the computer points of each of the 24 regions in the state and unofficially eliminate half the teams from serious playoff contention.
