Bernice Weigel
Bernice A. Weigel, 87, 5535 E. 1200 S., Bryant, Ind., died at 1:20 p.m. Oct. 28, 2008, at Swiss Village Retirement Community, Berne, Ind.
She was born Oct. 7, 1921, in Wabash Township, Jay County, to Perry S. and Fern Huey Miller. On July 5, 1939, she married John A. Weigel, who died Feb. 2, 1986.
Surviving are two sons, John W. and Thomas W. (Pat), Bryant, Ind.; a sister, Inez Baker, Celina; two brothers, Harold Miller, Decatur, Ind., and Perry Miller, Union City, Ind.; five grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
She retired from the former Huffy Corporation, Celina, in 1986, after 30 years. She was a member of the St. Mary's of the Presentation Catholic Church, Geneva, and its altar rosary sodality. She attended Jefferson Township School in Adams County.
Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. at the church, the Rev. Bosco Perrera officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Thursday at the Portland Chapel of the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home.
