Miles Gibbons
Former Wabash resident Miles E. Gibbons, 86, 104 Green Ave., Celina, died at 9:30 p.m. Dec. 6, 2008, at the Dayton Veterans Medical Center.
He was born June 6, 1922, in Celina, to Lionel and Iva Chandler Gibbons.
Surviving are a sister, Jean (Ernest) Baldini, Suntree, Fla.; and a stepdaughter, Cristi Mollad of France.
He ws a retired artist and teacher. He served as a graduate instructor at the Ohio State University, Columbus, and later taught art in various school systems. He graduated from Celina High School and the Ohio State University with a degree in Fine Arts. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in combat in Europe during World War II. He was a member of serveral art circles in Western Ohio.
Services are 6 p.m. Thursday at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home, Celina. Burial is at a later date.
Calling is 5-6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
