Richard Tryon
Former Celina resident Richard "Shorty" Tryon, 80, of Greenville, died at 4:30 a.m. Jan. 22, 2009, at Wayne Hospital, Greenville.
He was born Jan. 4, 1929, in Fort Jefferson, to George and Maude Brown Tryon. On March 2, 1946, he married Ernestine "Mitzie" Tryon, who survives.
Other survivors are four daughters, Vicky (Richard) Root and Holly (Jeff) Smith, all of Greenville, Patty (Allen) Cannon, Pine Valley, Utah, and Diane (Mike) Latimer, Greensboro, N.C.; and two sisters, Margery Henninger and Hala Wright, both of Greenville.
A bedside service was held prior to the gift of Richard's body to the Wright State School of Medicine's Anatomical Gift Program.
Contributions can be made to the Gerad Foundation for Cancer Treatment, Lima.
