Ralph Feil
Ralph H. Feil, 86, a resident at Otterbein St. Marys Retirement Community and formerly of Findlay, died at 7:07 a.m. March 12, 2009, at Otterbein St. Marys.
He was born Feb. 10, 1923, in Washington Township, Auglaize County, to Ernest and Edna Katterheinrich Feil. On Sept. 18, 1948, he married Ardeth Thomas, who died Dec. 11, 1997.
Surviving are five children, Todd (Robin) Feil, Granville, Brian (Denise) Feil, Belleville, Mich., Lon (Diana) Feil, Lisbon, Iowa, Kristine Feil, Findlay, and Beverly (Del) Bonar, Whitehouse; and 12 grandchildren.
Deceased is an infant daughter, Marsha, and a sister, Ruby Hoelscher.
He retired from the Marathon Oil Company after 39 years of service, where he worked as an accounting supervisor. He had formerly belonged to the Howard United Methodist Church, Findlay, and was a member of Wayne Street United Methodist Church, St. Marys, and the American Legion, St. Marys. He graduated from the University of Mississippi and was a veteran of World War II serving in the 983rd Army Engineers in both the European and Asian Pacific Theatres.
Services are 3 p.m. Sunday in the Meyer Chapel of Otterbein St. Marys Retirement Community. Private family burial is at Knollcrest Gardens, Arcadia.
Calling is one hour prior to service at Otterbein St. Marys Chapel.
