Linus Leugers
Linus G. Leugers, 82, 4928 Tama Road, Celina, died at 9:20 a.m. March 29, 2009, at Shane Hill Nursing Home, Rockford.
He was born Aug. 20, 1927, in Celina, to J. Henry and Josephine Zumbrinck Leugers. On Sept. 27, 1955, he married Pat Humbert, who survives.
Other survivors are a son, Mark (Karen) Leugers, Celina; a daughter, Cathy Leugers, Celina; a brother, Lee (Flora) Leugers, Clayton; a sister, Joan Simon, Celina; and two grandchildren.
Deceased are five brothers, Frank, Lawrence, Clarence, Henry and Edward; six sisters, Rose Keller, Florence Gehle, Clara Leugers, Helena Harms, Lauretta Hale and Alvina Clifford.
He retired after 20 years at the former Speicler Brothers, Celina, and was a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church, Rockford, and the Celina American Legion. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and played saxophone in the Army band during WWII.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Celina, the Revs. Richard Reidel and James Seibert officiating. Burial is at St. Marys Catholic Cemetery, Celina.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina.
