Two canoes drift down the St. Marys River on Tuesday, part of an event to create public awareness about the rich biology of the river corridor and the internationally-designated Important Bird Area (IBA) that surrounds it. An IBA is an area where birds congregate in large numbers, species of high conservation priority live and rare or unique habitats and representative bird species are located.
