A few hours of light snow are expected late this evening, mainly after 8 pm. While accumulations will be light, some challenging travel conditions may develop given the cold temperatures.
Additional snow may linger through Monday morning with accumulations remaining light. However, increasing winds and very cold temperatures will support blowing snow, primarily in rural areas.
Challenging travel conditions will be possible starting late this evening, continuing through the day on Monday. Use caution and allow for extra time to reach your destination.

* WHEN...From 7 AM Monday to 9 AM EST Tuesday.
* IMPACTS...The cold wind chills as low as 10 below zero could result in hypothermia if precautions are not taken. Wind chill values can lead to hypothermia with prolonged exposure.

Alvina Hemmelgarn
Alvina M. Hemmelgarn, 92, 242 E. Sixth St., Minster, died at 2:45 a.m. June 20, 2009, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Minster.
She was born Feb. 27, 1917, in Maria Stein to Louis and Rosina Rolfes Overman. On June 17, 1939, she married Bernard J. Hemmelgarn, who survives.
Other survivors are five children, Carol (Jim) Opperman, New Bremen, Marlene (Larry) Prenger, Minster, Ronald (Diane) Hemmelgarn, Villa Ridge, Mo., Dennis (Duff) Hemmelgarn, Minster, and Paulette (Babe) Hemmelgarn, Minster; brothers and sisters, Othmer (Joan) Overman, Maria Stein, Linus (Alma) Overman, Dayton, Dorothy (Norb) Gerlach, St. Henry, Cy (Betty) Overman and Louis (Joan) Overman, all of Maria Stein and Marilyn (Bill) Braun, Columbus; a sister-in-law, Alma Overman, Celina; 16 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Deceased is an infant daughter, Mary; a sister, Vi Dippold; a brother, Rich Overman, and a grandchild.
She was a homemaker and worked at the election polls in Minster. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary, Athletic Boosters, and formerly the St. Monica Ladies Sodality, all in Minster. She volunteered at Heritage Manor.
Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. Rick Nieberding officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Calling is 3-8 p.m. Tuesday and 9-9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.
