Betty Phlipot
Betty Bergman Phlipot, 80, 715 N. Franklin St., New Bremen, died at 10:55 p.m. July 24, 2009, at Lima Memorial Hospital.
She was born March 15, 1929, in New Bremen to Herbert and Leona Kettler Donnerberg. On July 6, 1946, she married Henry R. Bergman, who died April 5, 1995. On Feb. 10, 2007, she married Ernest "Ernie" Phlipot, who survives.
Other survivors are her children, Dave (Kathy) Bergman, Powder Spring, Ga., Tom (Sandy) Bergman, St. Marys, Jerry (Lynn) Bergman, Minster, Stan (Cindi) Bergman, Phoenix, Ariz., Ed (Cindy) Bergman, Alan (Becky) Bergman, Bruce (Rhonda) Bergman, Terry (Rhonda) Bergman, Mark (Dana) Bergman and Ron (Melissa) Bergman, all of New Bremen, Nancy (Jerry) Koesters, Lehigh Acres, Fla., Sandy (Dale) Schafer, Fort Loramie, Mary Jo (Dave) Bellman, Coldwater, Chris (Brad) Hausfeld, Springboro, Phyllis (Vince) Cuda, Lake Helen, Fla., Peg (Dan) Harrod, New Bremen and Sara (Mike) McNulty, Magnolia, Texas; five sisters, Dorthy Feltman, Mary Lou Campbell, and Donna (Robert) Nagel, all of New Bremen, Virginia Sweigart and Catherine "Katy" Jones, both of St. Marys; a sister-in-law, Miriam Donnerberg, New Bremen; stepchildren, Bill (Julie) Phlipot, Dot Scheer, Tom (Brenda) Phlipot, all of New Bremen, Deb (Tom) Scroggins, Seabrook, Texas, Dan Phlipot, Conyers, Ga. and Ken (Amy) Phlipot, Celina; 56 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, ten step-grandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren.
Deceased are a daughter, Judy Furrow, a brother, James Donnerberg; a grandson and a great-grandson.
She retired from New Bremen schools where she worked in the cafeteria. She was a member of the Church of the Holy Redeemer, the Senior Citizens and Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary, all in New Bremen.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. Thomas Mannebach officiating. Burial is at German Protestant Cemetery, New Bremen.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at the church parish hall and 9:30-10 a.m. Wednesday at the church at which time the Rosary will be prayed.
Contributions can be made to the church memorial fund or State of the Heart Home Hospice.
