* IMPACTS...The cold wind chills as low as 15 below zero could result in hypothermia or frostbite if precautions are not taken. Very cold temperatures can lead to hypothermia with prolonged exposure.

Christine Showalter
Christine "Chris" M. Winglewich Showalter, 42, of Lexington, Ky., died at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 12, 2009, at the University of Louisville Hospital, Louisville, Ky. Death was due to cancer.
She was born July 31, 1967, in St. Marys to Virgil and Kaye Schmiesing Winglewich. Her father is deceased, and her mother and stepfather, Ferdinand Wint, survive in New Bremen. On June 24, 1995, she married Brent Alan Showalter, who survives.
Other survivors are a daughter, Megan Kaye, and a son, Alan Robert, both at home; siblings, Paul Winglewich of Minster, Matthew Wint, Timothy Wint, Daniel (Victoria) Wint and Cynthia (Kenneth) Poeppelman, all of New Bremen, Todd (Kathy) Wint, Michelle (Warren) Halbert and Julie (Michael) Oakes, all of St. Marys, Angela Wint, Orlando, Fla., and Lynn (George) Imel, Marion, Ind.; a grandmother, Helen Schmiesing, Minster; father- and mother-in-law, Robert and Shirley Showalter of Naples, Fla., and Lexington, Ky.; two brothers-in-law; and a sister-in-law.
She was an administrative assistant at the University of Kentucky College of Fine Arts and a member of the Cathedral of Christ the King in Lexington, Spindeltop County Club and Southwest Pony Baseball.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the cathedral. Burial is at Lexington Cemetery.
Calling is 3-8 p.m. Sunday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster, and 6-9 p.m. Monday at Milward-Southland Funeral Home, Lexington.
