John Schnack
John J. Schnack, 89, formerly of 212 Dogwood Drive, Celina, died at 5:40 p.m. Oct. 28, 2009, at The Gardens at Celina.
He was born April 7, 1920, in Cliffwood, N.J., to Frank and Barbara Kroh Schnack. On June 26, 1962, he married Ruth Ketrow Kelly, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, John Schnack, New Bremen; a stepdaughter, Kathy Shirk, Celina; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Deceased is a sister, Mary Taylor.
He worked as a technician at the former General Telephone company in Celina. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, the Moose, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion, all of Celina.
Services are 2 p.m. Saturday at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home, Celina. Burial is at Willshire Cemetery.
Calling is noon-2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
