* WHAT...For the first Cold Weather Advisory, very cold wind chills as low as 18 below zero. For the second Cold Weather Advisory, very cold wind chills as low as 15 below zero expected.
* WHERE...Portions of east central and southeast Indiana, northeast and northern Kentucky, and central, south central, and west central Ohio.
* WHEN...For the first Cold Weather Advisory, until noon EST today. For the second Cold Weather Advisory, from 10 PM this evening to 10 AM EST Sunday.
* IMPACTS...The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 18 below zero could result in hypothermia or frostbite if precautions are not taken.

Ernest Adams

Maria Stein native Ernest L. Adams, 88, of Englewood, died Oct. 30, 2009, at Hospice of Dayton.

He was born Oct. 13, 1921, in Maria Stein to George and Clara Goecke Adams. His wife, Mary E. Marshal, died in 2005.

Survivors are two sons, Steve (Melissa) Adams, Clayton, and Dennis Adams, Englewood; a sister-in-law, Rose Adams, Kettering; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Deceased are two brothers, Thomas and Hugo Adams; and three sisters, Esther Adams, Emilda Guckes and Margaret Lucas.

He retired from General Motors, Inland Division, Vandalia. He was a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church, Dayton, and American Legion, West Milton. He was a U.S. veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army Air Corp.

Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. William O'Donnell officiating. Burial is at Miami Memorial Park, Covington.

Calling is 1-3 p.m. Sunday at Kindred Funeral Home, Englewood.
