Andrew Niekamp
Andrew J. "Andy," 76 of Kettering, died Nov. 14, 2009.
He was born Aug. 21, 1933, in Celina to the late Andrew J. and Alma Bertke Niekamp.
Surviving are five children, Cynthia Niekamp, Andrew J. Niekamp, III, Mark (Daphne) Niekamp, John "Jack" (Laura) Niekamp and David Niekamp; and 11 grandchildren.
Deceased are a brother, Lester Niekamp; and two sisters, Ethel Rinderle and Joan Rammel.
He worked as an assistant prosecuting attorney for Montgomery County for 25 years. He graduated from St. Henry High School in 1951, volunteered for the draft in 1953 and served two years in the U.S. Army. He went on to receive his bachelors degree in business administration from the University of Dayton in 1959 and his Juris Doctorate from the school of law at The Ohio State University in 1961.
Funeral Mass is noon Wednesday at St. Albert the Great Church, Kettering. Burial is at a later date at St. Henry Cemetery.
Calling is 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Routsong Funeral Home, Kettering.
