Ruth Strait
Ruth J. (Rue) Strait, 76, of Union City and formerly of New Weston, died Nov. 17, 2009, at Ball Memorial Hospital, Muncie, Ind.
She was born Dec. 13, 1932, in Dayton to Cara A. and Sally Jane Howard Rue. Her husband, Charles J. Strait died in 1992.
Surviving are a daughter, Gale Strait-Vasquez, Rockford; , two brothers, Jimmy H. (Cathy) Rue and Jerry Rue, all of Union City; a sister, Peggy (Allen) Thwaits, Celina; five granddaughters and seven great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two sons, Gary Strait and Charles Robert Strait; a daughter, Renea Strait; two brothers, Cary E. Rue and George M. Rue; and a sister-in-law, Marilyn Rue.
She retired from Fram/Allied Signal in Greenville where she worked for over 40 years. She was a member of the former New Weston United Methodist Church.
Services are 7 p.m. Friday at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home, Greenville, the Rev. Travis Combest officiating. Burial is at a later date in the Shook's Chapel Cemetery near Rossburg.
Calling is 5-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
