Giving Thanks - a free meal of turkey and all the trimmings - was served at Celina High School, the former Franklin school in Montezuma and St. Marys American Legion on Thanksgiving Day. Bruce Swonger, one of the volunteer coordinators, reported that a record number of free meals were served this year. Meals served were: 1,045 in Celina, which included 475 dine-in, 400 carryout and 170 home delivered; 610 in St. Marys; and 497 in Montezuma, which included giving 100 meals to fire, police and others who worked on the holiday. In 2008, meals served were 750 in Celina, 378 in Montezuma and 400-500 in St. Marys.
