Immaculate Conception Elementary School sixth-grader Stephanie Walter reacts to blowing a bubble Thursday during the Family Fun Night held at the school. Students and parents visited various stations to learn science. Walter blew bubbles to learn how to predict when a bubble will pop. The bubble remains intact as long as the walls are strong enough to hold in the air. Over time, the walls of the bubble become thinner due to gravity pulling down on the soap. The evening program was one of several activities planned this week held in observance of National Catholic Schools Week, which concludes today. This year's theme is "Dividends for Life," highlighting how a Catholic education "pays" by instilling faith, knowledge, morals and discipline, IC Principal Kathy Mescher explained.
