Janice Gelhaus
Janice Gelhaus, 67, 806 Oakwood Drive, Coldwater, died at 8 p.m. Feb. 21, 2010, at Parkview Memorial Hospital, Fort Wayne, Ind.
She was born Jun. 18, 1942, in Linton, Ind., to Robert L. and Mary E. Foster Clark. Her husband, Ken Gelhaus, survives.
Other survivors include two sons Michael Raper, Lyons, Ind.; and Kyle Thomas, Atlanta, Ga.; a stepson, Jeffrey (Shelley) Gelhaus, Louisville, Ky.; a daughter, Jackie (Sam) Vehslage, Lyons, Ind.; a stepdaughter, Kelly (Luke) Stretch, Pemberton, N.J.; three brothers, Robert L. Clark, Bloomfield, Ind., Roger (Darcy) Clark, Bedford, Ind., Richard (Gail) Clark, Aurora, Colo.; two sisters, Mary E. Monroe, Bloomfield, Ind., and Jennifer (Scott) Leibacher, Terre Haute, Ind.; a mother-in-law, Mary Ann Gelhaus, Coldwater; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Deceased is a brother, Ronald Clark; a father-in-law, Edward Gelhaus; and a grandchild.
She worked at Crane Navel Depot, in Crane, Ind., and retired from the Corps of Engineers in Atlanta, Ga. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater, and active at Briarwood Village. She worked at the Coldwater High School cafeteria and was a member of the Friendship Quilters. She was a 1972 graduate of Indiana State University with a degree in chemistry and in 1979 earned a master's degree in environmental engineering at the University of Cincinnati.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church, the Rev. Richard Walling officiating. Burial will be held at a later date at Antioch Cemetery, Bloomfield.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and 9-10 a.m. Thursday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.
