Leonard Belsher
Leonard J. "Slim" Belsher, 86, 605 E. Elm St., Coldwater, died at 7:40 p.m. March 19, 2010, at Briarwood Village in Coldwater.
He was born Sept. 20, 1923, in Dayton to Leonard Belsher and Martha Streacker, Belsher. On Aug. 20, 1959, he married Dolores Link Belscher, who survives in Coldwater.
Also surviving is a daughter, Jane (Clayton) Stammen, Coldwater.
Deceased is a sister, Mary Catherine Dafler, and three grandsons.
He was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Coldwater and its Men's Holy Name Society. He retired from the former Huffy plant in Celina and was an airplane mechanic with LB Aero at Lakefield Airport, Montezuma. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and Air Force and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1991, Coldwater American Legion Post 470, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5135. He was a Coldwater Park Board member for 12 years and a community hospital volunteer.
Funeral mass is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. Richard Walling officiating. Burial with military rites will be at St. Elizabeth Cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Tuesday and 9-10 a.m. Wednesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Coldwater.
