Lucille Rackham
Burkettsville native Lucille B. Rackham, 86, of Pagosa Springs, Colo., died Jan. 21, 2010, in Andrews, Texas.
She was born Feb. 11, 1923, in Burkettsville, to Henry and Elizabeth Wildenhaus Herman. On Sept. 29, 1945, she married Edwin J. Rackham, who died Nov. 21, 2002.
Surviving are two sons, Flak Rackham, Albuquerque, N.M., and Tony Rackham, Pagosa Springs, Colo.; two daughters, Susan Sands, Albuquerque, N.M., and Christina Evans, Wink, Texas; a brother, Paul Herman, Celina; two sisters, Eileen Wooles, Kettering, and Joann Straubinger, Tallahassee, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Eileen Herman, St. Marys; 10 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
Deceased are a brother, Eugene Herman, a sister, Marjorie Temple, a sister-in-law, Helen Herman, three brothers-in-law, Stormy Wooles, Don Straubinger and Theo Temple, and two grandchildren.
She was a homemaker, a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and a volunteer for hospice. She was a 1941 graduate of Immaculate Conception High School.
Services are to be held later with burial at Hilltop Cemetery in Pagosa Springs, Colo.
