Victor Prenger
Victor J. Prenger, 94, formerly of 1011 Rolfes Road, Maria Stein, died at 11:05 p.m. March 26, 2010, at Briarwood Manor in Coldwater.
He was born Jan. 24, 1916, in Egypt, to Joseph and Cecelia Werhman Prenger. On May 28, 1941, he married Alma Rolfes, who survives.
Also surviving are five children, Fred (Janice) Prenger, Houston, Rose Ann (Philip) Schaeffing, Gahanna, Margie (Randy) Griesdorn, Celina, Tony (Chris) Prenger, Maria Stein, and Mary (Dan) Heitkamp, Coldwater; a sister, Velma Bergman, Maria Stein; a sister-in-law, Irene Prenger, Egypt; and 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are five sisters, Bernadine Hoelscher, Loretta Huelskamp, Estella Piekenbrock, Irene Otte and Marcella Sommer, and a brother, Marcus Prenger.
He was a member of St. John Church and the men's sodality of the church.
He retired as a co-owner of Prenger Implement and was a milk truck driver for Pet Co. He was a member of Knights of St. John, where he also served as treasurer, Kentucky Temple, Exalted Knights of the Holy Cross and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles 1391 Minster. He was a member of the Marion Local school board for eight years.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. Kenneth Alt officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Calling is 3-8 p.m. Tuesday and 9-10 a.m. Wednesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Minster.
