City council considers eliminating dispatchers
CELINA - Police Chief Dave Slusser gave an emotional speech to city officials Monday night defending his department and its dispatchers.
City administration has proposed eliminating the dispatchers as a cost-cutting measure.
CELINA - The second reading of an ordinance to sell 12.59 acres of city land in the Grand Lake Industrial Park to Grand Lake Warehousing LLC passed Monday night, despite the objection of Councilman Ed Jeffries.

MENDON - Union Township residents will be asked to replace their current 1.4-mill fire levy with an additional 2-mill levy when they go to the polls May 4.

CHICKASAW - The village of Chickasaw is seeking voter approval of a five-year, 3-mill operating levy at the polls May 4.
The levy has been in place for several years, but it is now worded as new to bring in more money.
MONTEZUMA - Voters in Franklin Township will vote on a referendum at the May 4 primary election to determine whether a zoning ruling made in Franklin Township last year should stand.
FORT RECOVERY - Dale Uhlenhake rose slowly from his seat with help and reached for his walker. He then made his way to the podium at the 26th annual appreciation dinner for patients, staff, volunteers and supporters of the Center for Neurological Development in Burkettsville.
COLDWATER - Progress is being made in cleaning up the 412 W. Main Street property in Coldwater that has been a focus of attention by village officials during the past few months.
ST. HENRY - Various improvement projects and ideas are keeping St. Henry village crews hopping this spring.
In their spare time, town workers have created 12 poured-cement flower pots that will line state routes 118 and 119, including the downtown area, Village Administrator Don Hess said.
ST. MARYS - Some Rolling Hills subdivision residents want the sand volleyball court removed from the subdivision park. City council's parks and playgrounds committee will meet Monday to review the situation and hear the views of all subdivision residents who attend.
