Nancy V. Shannon, 87, St. Marys, died at 5:15 a.m. May 24, 2010, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys.

She was born July 14, 1922, in St. Marys, to Edward and Elizabeth Warman Overly. On Feb. 27, 1947, she married William "Bud" Shannon, who died April 27, 2002.

Surviving are a son, Steve (Connie) Shannon, St. Marys; two daughters, Marcia O'Brien and Linda (Craig) Hunter, all of St. Marys; nine grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

Also deceased are three brothers, Kenneth, Vane and Richard Overly, and a sister, Anna Dilbone.

She was a 1940 graduate of Memorial High School in St. Marys. She worked as a production employee at the former Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in St. Marys. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in St. Marys.

Funeral rites are 11 a.m. Thursday at Miller Funeral Home in St. Marys, the Rev. Dr. Ed Bray officiating. Burial is at Elm Grove Cemetery in St. Marys.

Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
