James Wierwille
James Wierwille, 88, Celina, died June 24, 2010, at his home.
He was born May 8, 1922, in New Knoxville, to James and Edna Wierwille. On Dec. 12, 1987, he married Virginia Kohlhorst Reineke, who survives. His first wife, Betty Jean Ream, is deceased.
Also surviving are four daughters, Judith (James) Bergman, Bowling Green, Ky., Christine (Brian) Teshka, Holland, Mich., Carla (Daniel) Mallory, Celina, and Leslie (Rex) Triplett, St. Marys; a son, Terry (Tracey) Reineke, Celina; a sister, Berdell (Burd) Miller, Mendon; 19 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Also deceased are five brothers, Kelsey, Clarence, Roger, Bob and Leland "Mouse" Wierwille.
He was a graduate of Spencerville High School and served as a Sargeant in the U.S. Army, 81st Infantry Division 322 Regimental Combat team in World War II. He retired from Sheller Globe in Lima. He was also a driver for his son at Rino's Auto Sales. He was also a charter member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6772 and the American Legion Post 191 in Spencerville.
Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville. Burial with military rites by the Spencerville Veterans will follow at Spencerville cemetery.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Sunday and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
