Harold Meyer
Harold H. Meyer, 94, Botkins, died at 11:46 p.m. Aug. 11, 2010, at his home.
He was born June 11, 1916, in New Knoxville, to William and Ida Stienecker Meyer. On Feb. 6, 1940, he married Lucille Hirschfeld, who survives.
Also surviving are three children, Nancy (Dwaine) Palser, Covington, Patricia (Willard) Platfoot, Minster, and Ned (Mary) Meyer, Botkins; a daughter-in-law, Joyce Meyer (James) Raterman, Sidney; a sister, Bertha Miller, Lima; 10 grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and 21 step-great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a son, Don Meyer; a great-grandson, Ramsey Meyer; two brothers, Victor and Walter Meyer; and three sisters, Evelyn Moeller, Ruth Meyer and Adelma Drake.
He was an active member of the Immanuel United Church of Christ in Kettlersville where he served in many church offices. He was a member of the Compromise Grange in Hardin, where he was a past Master of the Grange. He was also a farmer.
Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church the Rev. Charles Moeller officiating. Burial is at Loramie Creek Cemetery in Botkins.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Monday at Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home in New Bremen and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
