GRAND LAKE - Silica was applied to a 2.5-acre test area in Grand Lake this morning to see if good algae can be made to grow and out-compete the toxic blue-green algae.
Marysville-based Algaeventure Systems plans to make three more silica applications, one this week and two next. The application site is near the Celina Rotary lighthouse. [More]

CELINA - City council members on Monday night approved first reading of an ordinance to set aside $350,000 from the city's Staeger Road TIF fund to pursue infrastructure improvements at Grand Lake Industrial Park.
ST. MARYS - A recent court ruling awarded back pay and benefits to a St. Marys high school teacher dismissed last year for lewd behavior. School board members now could appeal that decision.
