Faye Hirschfeld
Faye A. Hirschfeld, 89, New Bremen, died at 11:10 a.m. Oct. 26, 2010, at Elmwood of New Bremen.
She was born Dec. 12, 1920, in Wapakoneta, to Harvey and Ruth Gilbert Pfenning. On July 5, 1941, she married Wilson L. Hirschfeld, who died Feb. 13, 1998.
Surviving are a son, Larry (Saundra) Hirschfeld, Anna; a daughter, Shirley (James) Eyster, Cincinnati; a brother, Ted (Jane) Pfenning, Raleigh, N.C.; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Also deceased are two sisters, June Wenning and Carol Oehlhof; and a brother, James Pfenning.
She was a member of the Immanuel United Church of Christ in Kettlersville, where she was active in the Women's Guild and held many offices. She was also a member of the New Bremen Senior Citizens and the Shelby County Farm Bureau. She was a 1938 graduate of Blume High School in Wapakoneta. She was a homemaker and worked on the family farm.
Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. Charles Moeller officiating. Burial is at Greenlawn Cemetery in Wapakoneta.
Calling is 3-7 p.m. Friday at Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home in New Bremen and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Memorials may be made to the church memorial fund or the New Bremen Emergency Squad.
