The Joe Dahlinghaus residence along Minster-Fort Recovery Road near Minster received extensive damage from a fire Wednesday afternoon, according to Minster Fire Chief Dale Dues. The Minster Fire Department was called to the home about 3 p.m. and had the fire contained in 30 minutes, Dues said. He believes the fire started with an outdoor wood-burning stove that was in the garage, although the official cause is still under investigation. The fire spread to the lower and upper east side of the house. Minster called seven area fire departments for backup, mostly for water shuttle, Dues said. Total damage cost is unknown. Dahlinghaus' wife and daughter were home at the time and made the call to 911. There were no injuries.
