Grand Lake St. Marys State Park employees on Tuesday began clearing trees from a 15-acre site on West Bank Road north of the Celina Rotary Dog Park to make room for a dredge material relocation area. Beginning Thursday, the public may cut up and remove downed trees from the site for firewood, said state park interim manager Brian Miller. Dredge material from Coldwater Creek will be pumped into the site this spring. Residents are only permitted to take trees already downed by state park employees.
