William Ripploh
William A. Ripploh, 84, Minster, died Jan. 7, 2011.
He was born Aug. 13, 1926, in Minster, to August and Antoinette Budde Ripploh. On Jan. 2, 1961, he married Gertrude E. Kelley, who survivies.
Also surviving eight children, Lois (Robert) Dietz, Botkins, Paula (Mike) McGowan, Minster, Ted (Jennifer) Ripploh, Minster, Jeri Howard, Wapakoneta, Christine Diedrich, St. Marys, Joan (Eugene) Schoenlein, Wapakoneta, Jane (Clyde) Miller, Minster, and Carol Diedrich, Minster; a daughter-in-law, Anna Diedrich; a sister, Irene Doenges, Minster; 24 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and a great-great grandchild.
Deceased is a son, Jim Diedrich; a son-in-law, Michael Howard, and a grandchild.
He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, the Minster Fraternal Order of Eagles 1391, where he was a past president, and the American Legion, all of Minster. He was also a past president of the Lake Loramie Improvement Association. He also coached K of C basketball for 30 years and was a member of the Cataract Fire Company. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and also owned and operated Ripploh Meat and Grocery and retired as a custodian for Minster Schools.
Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. Rick Nieberding officating. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Tuesday and 9-9:45 a.m. Wednesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Minster.
