Edward Casad
Former St. Marys and Punta Gorda, Fla., resident Edward Forrest Casad, 90, Celina, died at 6:20 p.m. March 20, 2011, at The Gardens in Celina.
He was born May 15, 1920, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Ben and Maude Casad. In 1944, he married Virginia Axe, who is deceased.
Surviving is a son, Thomas (Paula) Casad, Celina; three granddaughters; a great-granddaughter; and a great-great-granddaughter.
Also deceased is a brother, Ben Casad Jr.; a sister, Georgiana Carter; and a son, Steven Casad.
He was a graduate of St. Marys High School and attended Wittenburg University. He retired as an engineer from Goodyear Tire and Rubber in St. Marys and was owner of Ajax Machine and Welding in St. Marys. He was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in St. Marys. He also was a member of the Masonic Lodge, past commander of the Port Clinton Yacht Club and a member of the U.S. Power Squadron in Lima.
A private family burial will be held at Elm Grove Cemetery in St. Marys.
