Earl Hinkle
Earl Maurice Hinkle, 87, Celina, died at 4:50 a.m. April 16, 2011, at Fort Wayne Lutheran Hospital.
He was born April 30, 1923, in Delph, Ind., to John W. and Dessie Moore Hinkle. On Aug. 24, 1946, he married Betty Dee Fast, who died Feb. 9, 2007.
Surviving are his children, Dennis (Lynn) Hinkle, Celina, and Linda Clay, Dayton; sister, Hazel Armstrong, St. Marys; sister-in-law, Beverly DePoy, Wapakoneta; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Deceased are two brothers, Paul and Kenny Hinkle.
A member of Mount Tabor Church of God, Celina, he was a retired farmer and rural mail carrier for the U.S. Post Office, Celina. He graduated from Memorial High School in 1941. He was a U.S. Navy seaman first class and a veteran of World War II.
Service is 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. James Keiser officiating. Burial will follow at North Grove Cemetery where military rites will be performed.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina, and 1:30-2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
