Gary Stephens of Sgt. Oink's BBQ Company of Tiffin prepares several slabs of ribs for customers Friday at the 2011 Ribfest in Celina. Eight rib vendors are competing for awards at this year's event. The Ribfest continues today with gates opening at 11 a.m. at the Mercer County Fairgrounds. Admission is $3. A 5K race is slated at noon followed by the band Earthquakers at 5 p.m., a rib eating contest at 8:30 p.m. and entertainment by the Naked Karate Girls at 9:30 p.m. Proceeds benefit the fairgrounds and the Mariners baseball team.
