Former Portland, Ind., resident Cleo Pauline Lutes, 98, died May 12, 2011, at Briarwood Nursing Home, Coldwater.

She was born Aug. 18, 1912, in Jay County, to Williams and Minnie Locker Abel. On March 10, 1934, she married Paul R. Lutes, who died July 14, 1981.

Surviving is a daughter, Karen (Bernard) Schuh, Fort Recovery; four granddaughters, four great-grandsons; and a great-great-granddaughter.

She worked at Jay Garment and retired from Peerless Cleaners, Portland. She was a member of Women of the Moose.

Services are 2 p.m. Monday at Baird-Freeman Funeral Home, Portland, the Rev. Tim Dilley officiating. Burial is at Green Park Cemetery.

Calling is 1-2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
