Ben and Sarah Sheppard of Mendon feed the animals at the petting zoo at the Mendon Firecracker Festival on Thursday evening. The festival, on the former Mendon school grounds, continues tonight with rides opening at 5 p.m. and ends Saturday evening with fireworks at 10 p.m.
