Marie Cordier
Former Celina resident Marie Cordier, 82, died at 7 a.m. June 27, 2011, at Hospice of Dayton.
She was born Dec. 7, 1928, in Wapakoneta, to Guy and Alma Sandkuhl Benzing. On May 24, 1954, she married Paul F. Cordier, who died June 22, 2000.
Surviving are two daughters, Jane (Roger) Young, Centerville, and Joyce Cordier, Hilliard; a sister, Sue Miller, New Bremen; a sister-in-law, Janice Benzing, Adrian, Mich.; and two grandsons.
Deceased are, brother, Robert Benzing, and a brother-in-law, Arthur Miller.
A homemaker and farm wife, she served as a 4-H advisor in Neptune and helped start the GirlScouts troop in St. Marys. She was a resident volunteer at Bethany Lutheran Village, Dayton.
She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, St. Marys, and a 1947 graduate of Memorial High School, St. Marys.
Services are 1:30 p.m. Friday at Miller Funeral Home, the Rev. Becky Erb-Strang officiating. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys.
Calling is noon until time of services Friday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
