MINSTER - The Wapakoneta Redskins and the Minster Wildcats were each winners on the first day of competition on Friday in the Auglaize County ACME sectional tournament, but they were each victorious by different paths.

CELINA - Of the nearly 1.3 million signatures acquired in Ohio to get a referendum on the November ballot, 1,817 were collected in Mercer County, almost 11 percent of the local voters registered during the 2010 gubernatorial election.
The four-year terms of every mayor in Mercer County will end this year and only a few candidates have filed to run in the general election in November.

Lake Erie jumped out to an 8-2 lead and Grand Lake's ninth-inning rally fell short as the Monarchs defeated the Mariners 8-6 in Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League action at Jim Hoess Field.
