Donald Hamberg
Celina native Donald "Don" Urban Hamberg, 69, of The Woodlands, Texas, died July 11, 2011.
He was born Dec. 7, 1941, in Celina, to Edward and Alvina Schenking Hamberg. His wife, Patricia Grabow, survives.
Also surviving are a son, Chris, Mobile, Ala.; two daughters, Kim, Los Angeles, Calif., and Beth, Spring, Texas; a stepson, Aaron DeRossett, Alto Pass, Ill.; siblings, Thelma Miller, Lavine Wendeln, Joan Stammen and Tom Hamberg, all of Ohio; three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a stepgrandchild.
Deceased are his first wife, Margaret "Peg" Schnorr Hamberg; two sisters, Catherine Hamberg and Louella Meyer; and two brothers, Howard and Ralph.
He graduated from the University of Dayton and was a founding member of the Delta Sigma Phi fraternity. He served briefly in the U.S. Armed Forces following graduation. He worked at Abitibi Paper Company, Top Value, and retired from Maritz in 1999.
Services are 10 a.m. Monday at Sts. Simon and Jude in The Woodlands. A reception will follow at the on-site family center.
Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home and Cemetery of Texas is handling arrangements.
