Mercer County's finances are fairing better than initially projected, but next year could be rough, resulting in furloughs, reduced office hours and other spending cuts.
Mercer County Commissioners accepted a $1.03 million bid from Tumbusch Construction in St. Henry to upgrade water flow in the village of Mendon.

ST. HENRY - The Mercer County Sheriff's Office continues to investigate the apparent theft of 44 hogs from a Huwer Road barn. At roughly 250 pounds each, the animals had a market value of nearly $8,500.
