Audra Miller
Audra E. Miller, 88, Decatur, Ind., died at 1:15 a.m. Aug. 1, 2011, in Woodcrest Nursing Center, Decatur.
She was born June 2, 1923, in Celina to Dallas and Anna Suhr Coats. On March 24, 1946, she married Fuhrman P. Miller, who died Oct. 3, 2010.
Surviving are four sons, Daniel Miller, Danville, Ind., Mark (Kathy) Miller, Bluffton, Ind., Alan Miller, Fort Wayne, Ind., and the Rev. Kevin (Liz) Miller, Bremen, Ind.; three sisters, Lucille Smith, Coldwater, Jane Frysinger, Celina, and June (Ted) Yewey, Wapakoneta; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a sister, Helen Russell, and two great-granddaughters.
A graduate of Celina High School, she was a homemaker and supported her husband's ministry for more than 50 years in the Indiana towns of Avilla, Rensselaer, Linn Grove, Decatur and Goshen. She also worked as a teacher's aide in special education programs in Elkhart, Ind., and North Adams schools.
She has been a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church, Decatur, since 1987 and was active in the Shalom Circle of the United Methodist Women. She was instrumental in establishing St. Mark's pre-school ministry.
Service is 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church, the Rev. Michael Heinbaugh officiating. Burial will follow in Decatur Cemetery.
Calling is 2-3 p.m. Thursday at Woodcrest Nursing Center, 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home, Decatur, and one hour prior to services Friday at the church.
