Daniel Leonard Sr.
Daniel "Dale" Leonard Sr., 85, Celina, died at 12:15 a.m. Aug. 29, 2011, at his residence.
He was born June 20, 1926, in Celina to Charles C. and Bessie P. Ketcham Leonard. On Oct. 10, 1951, he married Mary Joan Whited, who died Nov. 1, 2008.
Surviving are sons, Dan (Laura) Leonard Jr., Terry (Becky) Leonard and Steve (Ranee) Leonard, all of Celina; daughters, Debra (Ira) Ralston, Mendon, and Cindy (Fred) Pizana, Ligonier, Ind.; 17 grandchildren; and 36 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a daughter, Susan Williams; siblings, Roger, Paul and Dean Leonard, Opal Hilman, Ruby Gregorson and Beulah Houston; a stepbrother, Max Leonard; one grandson; and one great-granddaughter.
He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II and is a member of Abounding Grace Church. He retired from the St. Marys Beef Company and Burns Security. He is also a member of The Gideons, Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion, both of Celina.
Service is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Rick Brosher officiating. Burial will follow at Mercer Memory Gardens.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
