Going automatic

Coldwater village employees start the initial work Friday on the village's new automatic meter reading (AMR) system. Shown at the base station are wastewater superintendent Don Bruns, left, and water superintendent Daryl Siefring. The station is beside the village's 250,000 gallon water tower. About 1,850 water meters will be replaced with the new AMR system, a project that is expected to take three to four years to complete.
