Hope Nevergall
Former Celina resident Hope L. Nevergall, 93, died at 3 a.m. Oct. 22, 2011, at Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center.
She was born Sept. 3, 1918, in Mercer County to Henry and Emma Aufderhar Suhr. On Oct. 18, 1941, she married George Nevergall, who died Aug. 30, 1988.
Surviving are a son, Hal Nevergall, Celina; two daughters, Ann Golden, Tiffin, and Karla (Bruce) Fent, Rockford; four grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
Deceased is an infant son, Roger; four sisters, Anna Coats, Fern Hines, Lela Coats and Mae Suhr; six brothers, Edward, Lee, Ernest, Robert, Paul and Joseph Suhr; and a son-in-law, Tony Golden.
She attended Bethel School, rural Mendon, and graduated from Center Township High School, Neptune. She was a member of the former Charity Union Friends Church in rural Mendon.
A homemaker, she had worked at the former Winter Company, Celina, sewing dungarees for Naval soldiers during World War II. Later she made jackets at that company.
Service is 10:30 a.m. Friday at W. H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home, Celina. Burial will follow in Swamp College Cemetery, Celina.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
