Field work

Workers from LeVan's Excavating of West Liberty install the drainage system for the future Memorial High School football field in St. Marys this week. ProGrass of Pittsburgh, Pa., is expected to install the synthetic turf in the next two weeks. The school board in August narrowly approved the low bid of $486,070 for the field. The project is being paid for through interest earnings on the remaining money from the school construction project. Funding for the entire stadium complex, estimated at $4-5 million, has not yet been finalized.
