Marilyn Hawk
Marilyn Elaine Hawk, 80, Celina, died Nov. 20, 2011, at Riverside Hospital, Columbus.
She was born Jan. 18, 1931, in Celina, to Eugene C. and Hilda P. Schoch Heckler. On June 14, 1952, she married Richard E. Hawk, who died Oct. 24, 1995.
Surviving are seven children, C. Gene Hawk, Sandusky, Daniel (Renee) Hawk, Bothell, Wash., John Hawk, Fostoria, Mary Kay (Mark) Pierce, Mansfield, Richard A. Hawk, Russia, Patricia (Mike) Chappie, Troy, Michael (Alberta) Hawk, Wapakoneta; a sister, Patricia Hay, Celina; 21 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Deceased is a sister, Velma Jean Heckler.
A 1949 graduate of Immaculate Conception High School, she received a nursing degree from Good Samaritan School of Nursing, Dayton, in 1953. She had been a registered nurse at Otis Hospital and Total Care Nursing Home, Celina. She had maintained her nursing license and was teaching classes for National Alliance on Mental Illness.
She was a lifelong member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Celina, and the Altar Rosary Society and the Daughters of Isabella. She volunteered at the IC school cafeteria.
She was active with Mercer County Council on Aging and had served on their board.
Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Saturday at the church. A private burial will be held in the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday and 9-9:45 a.m. Saturday at W. H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home, Celina.
