Janet Schmackers
Janet M. Schmackers, 70, of Maria Stein, died Nov. 25, 2011, in Lima.
She was born July 13, 1941, in Burkettsville, to Ray and Bertha Bruening Schwieterman. On Nov. 16, 1963, she married Jerry Schmackers, who survives.
Other survivors include two children, Sharon (Marc) Wessel, Cincinnati, and Terry (Holly) Schmackers, Cincinnati; a sister, Carol (Bernard) Bergman, St. Henry; a brother, Gary (Kathy) Schwieterman, Celina; two grandchildren and a stepgrandchild.
She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Maria Stein, where she served as a choir member and soloist. She was the head librarian at the Zahn branch of the Mercer County Library, Chickasaw, for 30 years.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church, the Rev. Thomas Brenberger officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Monday and 9-10 a.m. Tuesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.
